It's wonderful to see the profound impact the Katoke Trust projects are making in Tanzania.
Former secondary school students have embarked on careers in medicine, teaching, mechanics, engineering, and more. Projects in malaria and AIDS prevention, as well as vanilla farming, are also making significant strides. However, they need our support to sustain this vital work.
The Trust aims to raise AU$100,000 to continue providing the priceless gift of education to children, strengthen health literacy in local villages, and increase economic self-reliance.
Here are two ways members of Gymea Anglican and their friends can make a difference:
1. Why not take the Ks for Katoke Challenge this June: Register on the website to walk, run, or cycle, and gather sponsors, or sponsor someone you know. Visit katoke.com.au or email info@katoke.com.au.
2. Make a General Donation: This year, the Trust needs more sponsorships for students from poor families, additional staff accommodation for the school, and continued support for educational and health programs.
As a fun twist, our Senior Minister David, has signed up his Labrador, Winnie, to walk 100 km this June. If you'd like to sponsor David, or anyone else on the Gymea "team", look for their name on this page. And if you're signing up yourself, be sure to join the "Gymea Anglican Church" group when creating your profile.
Let's support this great cause together!
Go Winnie - you are doing a great thing!
